Sybian

The hottest toy by far these days is the Sybian. A device featuring a saddle-like seat containing an electric motor connected to a rod that protrudes from a hole in the center. A dildo is usually affixed to this rod for autoerotic purposes.

Media attention in this device has exploded lately, thanks in part to Howard Stern requesting that celebrities such as Carmen Electra try it out on live broadcasts. Despite the recent frenzy, the Sybian is far from a new idea. The Sybian was the brainchild os David Lampert in the 1970’s, but a prototype wasn’t constructed until 1985. It was made from sheet metal mounted on a wooden frame. Vibration was achieved by placing a vibrator through an opening inside the housing.

One of the major drawbacks to owning the Sybian is the cost. Retailing for $1,315, this is sure to be the costliest sex toy around and quite an investment for someone just looking to get off. For a while companies were renting out these babies, but they stopped due to liability risks of sperading STD’s.
